SMS Threat Prompts Police Investigation
A Sunridge Middle School student was arrested and is in juvenile custody following an incident on Sunday, April 16.
On Sunday evening, the student sent a message via social media to another SMS student about potential school violence. The Pendleton Police Department was contacted and began an investigation. The student who allegedly made the statement was arrested.
Police determined that it was safe for students to attend school on Monday, April 17. A police officer is on site at Sunridge Middle School all day today.
The student who allegedly made the threat remains in custody and will not be allowed to return to school until the investigation is complete.
